This is my all-consuming project at the moment – working on a turnaround of the Careers24 online Jobs site.

I was appointed into the GM role on 1 April, which was maybe not the most auspicious start date for a new job.

One of the first things I’m doing is making sure that there are loads of great links into the site so that it’s easy to find jobs by area or jobs by industry.

Some of these short-cut links are:

Jobs in Gauteng which covers Johannesburg jobs, Pretoria jobs and jobs in Midrand.

Jobs in Cape Town, which also covers surrounding areas like Durbanville and the northern suburbs, Milnerton, Blouberg, Tableview and the west coast suburbs, and Rondebosch, Newlands, Claremont and the southern suburbs.

Jobs in Durban and surrounding towns in Kwazulu Natal such as Pietermaritzburg.

Jobs in Bloemfontein and Kimberley.

It’s also easy to link directly to job listings for particular industries, such as Accounting jobs, Admin jobs, Banking jobs, Call Centre jobs, Construction jobs, Engineering jobs, Hotel jobs, Human Resources jobs, Insurance jobs, IT jobs, Legal jobs, Marketing jobs, Retail jobs and Sales jobs.

We’ve recently added a few more direct links to browse for jobs, including links to Finance Jobs and Mining Jobs.

The online job advertising and recruitment industry is growing rapidly in South Africa, and on the back of the growth we’re expecting in the general South African internet audience over the next couple of years I think that we’re going to see real success with this business.
