First post!

So it’s about time I started blogging again… my brother and I got our blogging start way back in 1996 before it was called blogging… we loved Fray and wanted to do our own… we called it Swill, kept an online diary of our antics, and built up a tiny readership.

But we learned html and found hosting in the US and we did it at a time when not many people were self-publishing personal experiences online. And it got me my first job in the internet industry, working for a web-dev team at an ISP. Which sadly killed the blog, because once I started building web sites for sports events and music festivals my own little blog seemed pointless.

Fast-forward 12 years, and I’m still working in the industry. Currently heading up design and development at 24.com, where we publish some of South Africa’s most popular online content like News24.

I’ll stick to mostly tech topics here, with a bit of hobbiest photography thrown in if I find the guts to share some photos online. Next couple of days will be my thoughts about the hot trends in technology for the web for 2009/2010…
